BSA provides exceptional protozoan analyses at research quality, cost-effective standards for government and commercial clients. Each project we undertake is conducted in accordance with prescribed client standards for quality of services in protozoan analyses.

Ciliate and heterotrophic nannoflagellate abundance and biomass

is used to determine the trophic composition of a body of water. Polluted waters often have a rich and characteristic protozoan fauna.

The relative abundance and diversity of protozoa are used as indicators of organic and toxic pollution. Identification of protozoan communities provides the necessary information to make informed decisions about management and restoration.

BSA produces voucher collections of protozoan specimens with permanent slides of samples, mounted using standard techniques.
